Terra Shake
Another case involving cement fiber roof material is known as "Terra Shake." The case was filed in the Superior Court, County of Alameda, Case No. 2001-28588. The Court Ordered Final Approval of the Terra Shake Litigation on August 1, 2006.
Shakes were sold between 1993 and 2002 and were manufactured with a combination of cement and paper. The Terra Shakes suffer from problems common to most cement fiber shakes - they lift, crack, break, and change in color and appearance. Terra Shakes and Terra II Shakes were produced in relatively small volume. The combined settlement for Terra Shake and Terra II Shake was $2.55 million.
The settlement claims period was open between August 2, 2006 and January 1, 2007. All class members who submitted claims within the Court Ordered period have received a settlement for the Terra Shake roof. No further claims will be accepted.
