Ground Contamination in San Francisco

A close up of a Cal Shake product

The Birka-White Law Offices are currently investigating ground contamination in the 100 block of Navajo Avenue in San Francisco. Some of the properties have experienced an oil-like substance percolating through their garage and basement floors. Testing has revealed the chemical to be, among other things, ethylene glycol. The chemical is often associated with automobile maintenance.

Core samples have recently been taken from some of the properties and the results of further tests will soon be available. The San Francisco street car maintenance facility is a short distance from the properties. Although unconfirmed until further testing, it is suspected that the source of the chemicals which have leached into the soil is the street car/former bus maintenance yard.

Claims will be filed against the City of San Francisco and further litigation is anticipated.
